This bug is fixed for me in current wine (1.6-rc4). Can you test again with the latest version of wine and tell us if this works for you too?
You don't have this bug even in Dragon Age Origin (1) ? What are your Direct3D options ? Are they default or did you change them ? With default settings, I still have this bug
Although not entirely clear because of the darkness of the menu, what I see is a black image with a sun in the middle and 4 ornaments around it. My understanding of the bug is that before, the preview was a black rectangle with nothing in it. Because I see a clear image, I assumed that this was fixed.
