Yes, I still reproduce the delay related to rendering the images. I don't remember how long it was at the time I reported this, but now it seems to have become smaller (about 0.5-1 sec on P4 machine currently). Tested with wine-1.5.24-35-gc449427.
I tested it as well, and it's near instantly displayed now, so I guess this bug can be closed. You reported "several seconds" in your original submission, so the current 0.5-1 seconds seem quick enough.
