My config line is:
../wine-${1}/configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
--with-x --libdir=/usr/lib32 CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i486 -mtune=i686"

I use a compile script, which includes variables like ${1}
In this case, ${1} = 4.0.1
