I have tried many different tips and tricks, including starting from a clean wine directory, installing DirectX9, changing the OffScreenRenderingMode, removing PulseAudio, and installing the latest Spore patch. I have not tried compiling from GIT. Here are the specs: Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Wine 1.1.8 Kernel 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP clean wine directory Spore 1.0 No EA Download Manager vm.mmap_min_addr = 0 command line: mike(a)fliptop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/SPORE$ wine Sporebin/SporeApp.exe -safe Attached is the console output without a debug trace, showing unable to load winedos.dll followed by a segfault. I have set vm.mmap_min_addr = 0, but still get the crash. Any ideas?
