I'm using Wine staging too but I don't have any splash screen at all, just
black black black. Maybe the difference is that I am on staging 2.0-rc1 and not
staging 2.0-rc3.

But when does the game crash ? It never crashes for me, I can continue to
listen to the menu music as long as I want !
