I believe this error existed because of conflicts with the game's desire to manage the window status. Using the KWIN shortcut is about the only way to minimize and recover to full screen again. Recently I upgraded to Wine 1.5.3 and Kubuntu 12.04 this seem less of a problem and also corrected some sound issues.
