I tried the original demo but it doesn't have the bug: the demo runs in 16-bit color mode whereas the problem occurs only in 32-bit color mode. I reproduced the problem with Nvidia binary drivers 381.22 and with nouveau/mesa 17.1.4, too. The problem: in-game characters are invisible.
