[Bug 24532] can't take screenshots (BitBlt and friends)

graphics card - this rings bell. ati radeon and i got stuck somewhere in
between fglrx and xserver-org-video-radeon, resulting in the shown behaviour.
new install of either of the two fixed the problem.
