diff -a <file1> <file2> >> file.txt command on Linux does the same thing as git
show but puts it into a text file to look at. I just recently started using
git, so I'm still learning about its options.

Thank you for a quick response. I'll check that out; I'm a beginning programmer
and WINE is a very appealing project I'd want to help with.
