I have a slightly different problem (intermittent blanking of the work area, re-appears during scene rotate), however I unintentionally recreated the described bug by setting the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideWithRender" registry key to "N". I'm running: Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) winetricks 20120912 Wine 1.5.14 Sketchup 8.0.15158 Video: Intel Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+) I'll try to add this somewhere more appropriate but I managed to fix my intermittent blanking problems by setting the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideGraphics" key to "N".
