http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28486 --- Comment #17 from Anastasius Focht <focht(a)gmx.net> 2012-04-29 07:07:28 CDT --- Hello, the best way would be to remove all "fake" .NET registry/file stuff that now lives in default WINEPREFIX at the point the Mono package is considered 'stable'. It just harms many installers and is also a reason for various workarounds in .NET winetricks recipes (I wasted lots of time on this due to Mono). --- quote --- The installer succeeds on Windows XP without it and without a machine.config file, and it does not install them itself, either. That makes it a Wine bug. --- quote --- So it got broken due to Mono "integration". In the end the goal should be to install MS Office 2010 in a clean WINEPREFIX without having to install/uninstall Mono.
