Bug 43411 has very similar symptoms (visually and in similar terminal outputs),
can the The Sims be added to the list of affected apps then? Also, I tested and
this issue is not exclusive to Nvidia drivers, the same stuff happens with open
source drivers and on machines with AMD and Intel GPUs. Also, still present in
3.7.
