The game can be playable for a long time -- I played for over an hour without hitting the bug. I also was able to leave the application running for several minutes after the bug occurred, I timed out from the server I was on, and after reconnecting I didn't have the bug anymore and I wasn't effected for the rest of the run of wine. I restarted the whole thing in an attempt to trigger the bug again. Still got nothing. Restarted again and got the bug almost immediately. I'm not sure if it's a one-time-per-run thing that most of us just aren't patient enough to power through or not.
