[Bug 8802] New: lack of WM_ERASEBKGND in win98 mode, but works in XP mode

The bug is weird. Running uTorrent (latest beta )
http://download.utorrent.com/beta/utorrent-1.7-beta-2899.uncompressed.exe
with wine set to emulate XP is fine, but when you set it to Windows 98
or lower wine stops sending WM_ERASEBKGND (or/and breaks WM_PAINT).
background surfaces are not repainted and remain black.

I searched bugzilla and found some bugs with WM_ERASEBKGND (for example http://
bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6006), but none of them was dependant on the  
Windows version in winecfg.
