I have tried setting to XP and Windows 7 mode in winecfg but neither have resolved the problem. I also saw some people recommend installing DirectX via the installer that comes with the game. Unfortunately, the installer fails every time that I try. I also attempted to install the June 2010 DirectX Redistributable from the official Microsoft website.
