Maybe you could patch your version and retry?
I meant to say that it could be the difference ;) Still works just fine after patching to 1.12. I only went to the menu, I didn't try to do anything except check the version in the settings, but he reported failure prior to the splash screen. So, I'm assuming whatever was wrong is now fixed.
