I also have an HD5000 series video card (XFX HD5570) with proprietary drivers 12.6. Tested lots of different antialiasing (MSAA, AMSAA, SSAA), anisotropic filtering settings, mipmap detail settings, but nothing happens. Seems to be a driver-related problem.
