The original regression has been hidden by commit
7524258aaf57fe11de6d3dbf9d0842eb2accf966, but as mentioned in my previous
comment a different commit introduced a breakage with the same symptoms but for
other reasons. The original problem with nested context_acquire calls is also
still there, but hidden in most cases.
