I tried out the game "Syberia" via Steam as well. And while V1.4.1 of Wine produces sound and a black screen only (game unplayable), with Wine V1.5.10, I get these error messages: "DirectX Sound Engine Initialization Failed" and "Your sound card is not available or it is nonexistent. Make sure your sound card is not in use by another application before running Syberia."
