Anyway, I think we can close this one here as duplicate of bug #24276.

There are still more Splinter Cell graphics issues, but these are tracked in
bug #9609 and bug #13869.

Henri has already submitted a patch to issue a warning if s3tc support is not
found, but it was not accepted yet. I'm going to close bug #24276 when the
patch goes mainline.
