I missed it in your report. I only noticed "some quick hacks locally applied to
fix most required things".

I've updated AppDB, noting the latest 1.30 works fine with the workaround.

The previous popular version, 1.16, that works without modification and is
installed by winetricks, no longer functions after Amazon disabled its ability
to communicate with its servers.
