Alright, at long last I have some good news! ... So, that's that; this bug can be closed as fixed. Thank you for your work, both for creating the two patches and for spending your time trying to fix this issue as well.
That's wonderful news! I'm sorry it took so long. Now that you mention it - there are no TRACE statements in this code, so the only way we would have been able to capture it with WINEDEBUG would have been with +relay...
