You will need to create the key in the Registry. It takes about 1 minute. After that, everything works great. I am running Wine 1.1.26 on Ubuntu 9.04 powered by a Core2Duo 2.8Ghz 4Gb Ram laptop with an Nvidia G105M card plus Nvidia 1.80 video drivers (not beta 1.85 drivers as some people suggest you need). I installed the game on a clean Wine folder (renamed the existing one) and it installed 100%. It seems to work the same with or without overriding the native direct3d dll (d3d9).
