I downgraded wine all the way back to wine 6.0 which definitely worked and this new issue still persists. I also noticed that the issue sometimes disappears after remounting the partition but this happens very inconsistently. This does not seem to be a failing drive either. I tested with another ntfs drive I had lying around and it has the same issue.
