It might be useful to provide a non-PIC build of Wine-Staging for users to test/play with. The problem would be to sort out/identify issues resulting from that change from the usual bug/regression influx. Ultimately it's up to AJ to switch the default setting ... and potentially the distro package maintainers (overriding the default).
