To ensure it wasn't a race, I did 'wineserver -w' (and also added a sleep of 10 seconds), but the problem remains. After a few tries (usually 2-3), the application will start inside the desktop, and from there, it seems to always work as expected.
same here but the virtual desktop gets flaky again when i run winetricks, even if i don't change any settings. btw, i always get the expected behavior if i run notepad with e.g., wine explorer /desktop=MyDesktop,640x480 notepad -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
