It works for you? That was interesting! Yes, it happens immediately on startup. The installation appears to run fine, but when I try to start the application I never see any window. And yes, for debugging I reproduced it with a new WINEPREFIX. I wonder I have something else on my system that might interfere. I thought wine was rather independent of anything else, but not completely I guess. The standard test case "wine notepad" works fine, so it's not a completely broken installation. I don't think so, but just in case there might be something else of interest in the output I attach the complete log from trying to start the application.
