IMO the first thing you can try is a 32 bit version of the application (if it
exists).

Next is to install the debug packages in order to get better backtraces (with
source file names and lines). To do this you have to install the additional
package with -dbg name in it. The winehq repositores for Debian presents both
wine-devel-dbg and wine-staging-dbg packages.
