Today I tested with another internet connection, and with a Windows machine where the problem is excactly the same when using my router, maybe some IPv6 / ports blocked issue. Probably the menu entry did nothing because I was not really logged in although the messenger showed me the contrary with friends list etc. I marked it as "notourbug" or you can remove it.
