it looks like git works for splash screen for this now on jwm/fluxbox/openbox.
however all 3 are unable to alt-tab back into the game - which may be related
to https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58443

i think i was told not to mark as 'resolved' but 'worksforme' which i dont see.
