I had already tried forcing the proper resolution with a similar approach, but the game just crashed. I stumbled upon your various posts and bug reports around the Net while looking for a solution a few months ago. I was determined to trace back the root of the issue and this is the furthest I have gotten so far. I kept this activity on hold for a few months now.
