Latest stable release: Wine 1.6.2 This is also the bundled version with ubuntu 15.10 I have just added the wine ppa and tried again with version 1.7.50 This time the installer crashes and disappears after accepting the terms and conditions and after a short time all wine services in the system monitor disappear.
