The game's music is indeed in MIDI format;  however, not only can I can play
MIDI files in Wine, but I can play <i>the MIDI files the game uses</i> directly
from other Windows programs (such as Windows Media Player and WinAmp) entirely
from within Wine.  I can also play the files natively through QuickTime, so
they're not the issue.
