The demo works very well for me in current wine (1.4-rc2), arch linux X64 and NVIDIA hardware. Can someone else confirm?

You mean comment #6, right? I forgot to say, the game does not get focus when the Ubisoft intro video begins to play, but I can get the focus back by tabbing to the game. Afterwards I am able to start a scenario and play the game.
