The bug seems nearly fixed. Now the screen is not garbled when running the game
but black. Once the mouse hovers over a button then part of the screen shows.
Once the mouse has gone over all the buttons (3 in all) then the whole screen
is visible, completely normal! In normal (non dirext3d) video mode the screen
is completely normal from the start.
