[Bug 12829] Viper Racing crashes with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error.

Perhaps the change from the Windows 95/98/Me ABI to the NT/2000/XP ABI in WINE
triggers this bug. Could someone with more experience with the code verify
this?
