I have the same problem here.

Using:
HW amd64
Ubuntu Karmic 9.10
Compiz 0.8.4 - I've tried it in both cases (Compiz on and off) - NO CHANGE
Wine 1.1.34
NVIDIA Driver Version 185.18.36
