Can you please attach a (compressed) trace with +cursor by running:

export WINEDEBUG=+cursor

before launching the game in the terminal and reproducing the bug with and
without the patch, if you can?  (redirect the trace to somewhere like
> /tmp/log 2>&1)

And I don't know if it will help, but just in case, does setting the string
value "GrabFullscreen" to "Y" under [Software\Wine\X11 Driver] registry key
help at all?
