Native dsound also stops the crash at this commit. This commit can be reverted in latest git (3.0-rc4) but the application still crashes in the way, and the workaround is the same. I suspect there is another commit along the line somewhere, but it will take me even longer to find that. Note: between this commit and git the application has to be fully reinstalled in a clean wineprefix or it just hangs, which is why a bisect takes so long.
