On both systems (the one with affected by the bug reported here and the one
unaffected) gst-1.0-play fails to play the video file but ffplay plays it
successfully. Could that give us a hint about what I should look at first?

I am especially surprised to see that WINE can play the videos on Debian 12
despite gst-1.0-play failing to do so.
