To be more specific, the color palette is scrambled when the video starts.
I can confirm this. The whole screen gets corrupted. I also noticed people on the ubuntu forum experiencing it. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=823728 The behavior cannot be captured in screen capture software. The images come out normal looking.
