https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37614 Bug ID: 37614 Summary: Applications do not always start inside a configured virtual desktop Product: Wine Version: 1.7.31 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: austinenglish(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 50062 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=50062 screenshot I noticed some strangeness with virtual desktops. Configuring one (either via winetricks or winecfg) and then starting e.g., notepad/regedit starts the application outside of the virtual desktop. To ensure it wasn't a race, I did 'wineserver -w' (and also added a sleep of 10 seconds), but the problem remains. After a few tries (usually 2-3), the application will start inside the desktop, and from there, it seems to always work as expected. Commandline used: $ winetricks -q vd=1024x768 ; wineserver -w ; sleep 10 ; notepad screenshot attached.
