Hello Zactry, yes I do use Unity. I have used Ubuntu machines back when Unity
was the default and had gotten used to it, so when the default was changed I
installed ubuntu-unity-desktop.

For specifics, $DESKTOP_SESSION returns unity, $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP returns
Unity:Unity7:ubuntu, and wmctrl -m shows Compiz in the first line.
