https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50749 Bug ID: 50749 Summary: Microcap 12 has some different behaviour if 'installed' or not Product: Wine Version: 6.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: devops.sune(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 69531 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=69531 welcome dialog is displayed after fresh install Not a bug per se, but a record that upon unzipping, the user is presented with two executables (32 & 64-bit) that they can use to run MC12 directly. The user is also presented with a setup.exe that guides it through an installer (which will place it in the c_drive of your selected wine_prefix). If I run the exe installed into the c-drive, there are two immediate differences on startup: 1. the README pdf opens automatically 2. a 'Welcome' dialogue opens Both of these only happen upon the first boot after install and not again after that. It's probably a trivial difference but I'm taking a note of it anyway. Since it's still unclear which option would lead to a more stable program.
