Not major. Upgrade Wine, 1.1.12 is a known bad version.
What video card & drivers? Have you disabled "Steam community in-game"?
Video Card nVidia 6600GT, drivers 177.82. Steam community is disabled. An update to 1.1.15 hasn't solved anything.
