I tried writing a program that passes similar garbage to WinVerifyTrust and
running it under Windows XP.  It just crashes there.  So I suspect the root
problem is not with WinVerifyTrust, but something else in Wine that is causing
such garbage to get passed to WinVerifyTrust.

Could you post a +relay log?
