Any idea if it is possible to reproduce the issue anymore? I visited the website and and made an account and tried to download the program but it gives a file with .dmg extension.
It gave you the Mac version. Their not-so-smart home page apparently mistakes Linux for MacOS, and that's all it offers you in a Linux browser. Spoofing the user agent in native Firefox doesn't work; downloading in a browser running in Wine might (I didn't try); downloading in Windows presumably would.
