[Bug 18424] Mac OS X Joystick support doesn't work

Upon rereading, Wine-Linux has direct serial connection support. 

However, that should only a concern if one is using an serial port to connect a
joystick, right? So for the USB joysticks/game controllers, only xinput and
dinput matter. Have I got the gist of it?
