[Bug 23471] Menubar collapses giving no chance to enter menus

I just checked some older game versions. They use the same system for menus.
The message posted in my first post does _not_ appear, but I can't manage to
click the menu or keep it open.

May it be the desktop environment? Is there any way to check that or anything
else what could be the cause for this?
