This is the output from using 'WINEDEBUG=+wave WINETEST_INTERACTIVE=1 wine winmm_test wave' using pulseaudio with only the relevant parts.
This can hopefully be fixed in the alsa pulse plugin, see http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/198#comment:8 Using PA adds quite a bit delay. I didn't see that delay in other applications (mplayer, mpd).
